Case Studies

We worked with a client who manages a diverse portfolio, including residential, commercial, industrial and specialist properties. They were seeking clarity on the current market value of their assets and advice on optimizing their portfolio’s performance. Through our property valuation process and understanding their property strategy, we identified underperforming properties which enabled the client to make decisions about their portfolio, to increase rental yields, and unlock significant value across their assets.

One of our private clients was looking to sell a family property and prior to selling, we assisted them with how to position it in the current market. After conducting a detailed valuation and local research, we were able to advise on how to present the property for sale, areas to focus on that significantly increased its appeal. By providing this advice and working closely with the client, they were able to secure a sale well above their expectations.

A long standing client required an urgent valuation on a property they were looking to acquire. The valuation was required within 48 hours to allow them to negotiate on a sale by a set date. We were able to inspect, complete the valuation and discuss the property with the client prior to the timeframe, allowing them to negotiate with confidence and secure the property below the original asking price.

Steve is the National Director of Valuation Performance at WBP Group, where he leads a national team focused on ensuring accuracy and consistency in property valuation processes nationwide.

Starting his career as a cadet valuer in 2011 within WBP Group Melbourne office, Steve has demonstrated an exceptional work ethic and a commitment to professional growth. His journey within the company has seen him steadily rise through the ranks, from valuer to Managing Valuer, Valuations Operations Manager Victoria, Interim VIC State Director and most recently, Regional Director for Southern/Bayside region.

In his current role, as National Director of Valuation Performance, Steve’s primary focus is on optimising national valuation performance, the customer experience and driving growth. He collaborates closely with the senior leadership team and state directors to ensure WBP Group maintains it’s position as an industry leader in valuation excellence.

Known for his attention to detail, innovative approach and dedication to maintaining the highest standards, Steve is instrumental in ensuring WBP Group remains at the forefront of valuation performance in the market.

Steve Davies

Regional Director – Residential Valuations

Steve Davies is a Regional Director at WBP Group, bringing over 20 years of experience across residential, prestige, commercial and rural property sectors. He leads the South/East Victorian valuation team, managing workflow, compliance and client service delivery. Throughout his career, Steve has conducted valuations on some of Melbourne’s most prestigious properties, including homes valued at over $20 million. His professional background also spans commercial property valuation, development management and international experience as a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) in the UK.

Respected for his technical expertise, strategic leadership and long-standing connection to WBP Group dating back to 2001 Steve is dedicated to upholding industry standards and mentoring the next generation of valuers. He holds a Bachelor of Business (Property) from RMIT and additional certifications in finance and mortgage broking.

Joseph McGrath

Regional Director, Residential Valuations

Joseph is the Regional Director of Residential Valuations Northern Region (VIC), bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to his role.

He began his career in 2016 as a Cadet Valuer at WBP Group, gaining valuable experience in Administration and Compliance. By 2017, Joseph had earned his qualification as a Residential Property Valuer (RPV), joining the Melbourne Residential team where he specialised in the outer western areas of the city.

In 2022, Joseph further advanced his career by obtaining his CPV certification, expanding his expertise to cover the Inner Northern and Western Regions of Melbourne. Over the years, he has completed a wide range of residential valuations, earning a reputation as a respected leader with a keen understanding of both valuations and the broader property market.

Joseph’s commitment to excellence, coupled with his ability to navigate the complexities of the property market, makes him a pivotal figure in the team, ensuring the success of WBP Group’s property valuation services.

Jason Woo

Regional Director, Residential Valuations (VIC)

Jason is the Regional Director of Residential Valuations – Eastern (VIC) at WBP Group, leveraging over a decade of experience in property valuation and leadership.

He began his career as an Accountant in 2008, before transitioning to specialised property valuations in 2012. During this period, Jason honed his expertise covering a variety of retail, commercial and industrial property assets.

In 2017, Jason joined WBP Group as a Senior Valuer within the Melbourne Residential Valuation team. His sharp analytical skills and in-depth knowledge of the property market quickly positioned him as a pivotal leader within the organisation. As a respected figure among his colleagues and WBP’s clients, Jason is known for his strategic thinking, commitment to excellence and ability to deliver insightful property valuations.
